Tell Congress To Stop Trophy Hunting

Cecil's story has shone a bright light on the pay-to-slay subculture of the trophy killing industry and as a result, the public has voiced their outrage. Now it's time for the U.S. Congress to act on it.

Congress is considering the so-called "Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act", which provides a sweetheart deal for millionaire trophy hunters by allowing the import of the heads of rare polar bears they shot in Canada. Polar bears are a threatened species, but these trophy hunters want a special congressional waiver.

Please ask your U.S. Senators to oppose S. 405 and withdraw their name if they have already cosponsored this cruel bill. Look up your senators' phone numbers.

After making your phone call (please do not skip that crucial step!), fill in and submit the form below to automatically send a follow-up message to your two U.S. Senators. Legislators receive a lot of email, so be sure to edit your message so it stands out.

Dear Senator,

The Bipartisan Sportsmen's Act of 2015, S. 405, would permit the importation of 41 dead polar bear trophies, killed by wealthy trophy hunters. These bears were killed while the Fish and Wildlife Service was finalizing a rule to list the polar bear as threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Trophy hunters should not be allowed to kill imperiled species abroad, and then have Congress be their saving grace by allowing them to bring such sport trophies home.
