Dear U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,

As a supporter of the Humane Society of the United States, I'm reaching out today to ask that you list giraffes as "endangered" under the Endangered Species Act.

Right now, there is substantial scientific data indicating that giraffes may soon be at risk of extinction throughout all, or a significant portion, of their range if current trends continue. Giraffes have suffered a major reduction in population size primarily due to habitat loss, commercial overutilization and poaching, and such decline continues unabated. As the largest importer of wildlife in the world, the U.S. plays a key role in this decline, having imported tens of thousands of giraffe products in the past decade, including trophies, skins, bones and more.

Thank you,
