Support a Cruelty-Free Virginia

Thousands of foxes have been taken from the wild and stocked in Virginia's nearly forty fox pens. There, packs of dogs chase the foxes and often rip them apart while still alive. Participants are then awarded prizes and trophies based on whose dog most ruthlessly hunts down the captive wildlife.

It's time to end Virginia's fox pen cruelty forever. Join The Humane Society of the United States and the Coalition for Fair Conservation in our campaign for a cruelty-free Virginia.

My pledge:

I support a cruelty-free Virginia and an end to fox penning.

I believe that animals should not be forced to run for their lives from packs of dogs, trapped behind electrified fences. Fox penning is a cruel practice that pits captive wildlife against dogs, increases the risk of disease spread, and threatens the integrity of our conservation ethics. For these reasons, I support an end to fox penning in Virginia.
