Use the Farm Bill to protect animals!

Twice a decade, Congress passes a Farm Bill, which is a compilation of food and farm issues bundled into one massive package. Right now, the U.S. Congress is working to complete a final bill. We have an incredible opportunity to press for inclusion of some of our key animal protection bills. We must also speak up to stop the disastrous King Amendment.

Please urge your U.S. Senators and Representative to do all they can to ensure that three critical animal welfare bills are included in the final version of the Farm Bill -- the PAWS Act, the Dog and Cat Meat Trade Prohibition Act, and the PACE Act. These three bills already have tremendous bipartisan support and the Farm Bill is an ideal vehicle to get them passed. Also urge opposition to the disastrous King Amendment, which will block state and local laws protecting animals and consumers.

Please take a moment to call your two U.S. Senators and Representative; you can find their phone numbers here. You can say, "As your constituent, I urge you to please do all you can to ensure that three animal protection bills are included in the final Farm Bill: the Pet and Women Safety (PAWS) Act to protect domestic violence victims and their pets; the Parity in Animal Cruelty Enforcement (PACE) Act to crackdown on animal fighting, and the Dog and Cat Meat Trade Prohibition Act to ensure this horrific industry never takes hold in the U.S. Each of the past three Farm Bills have contained important animal protection provisions, and this Farm Bill must also. Please also strongly oppose the King Amendment, which is a controversial provision that will block state and local laws protecting animals and consumers."

Calling is so important. Please do not skip this crucial step. Then, personalize and submit the letter below to send a follow-up message.

Dear Legislator,

As your constituent, I am asking you to please do all you can to include 3 key animal protection measures in the final Farm Bill: the PAWS Act, the PACE Act, and the Dog and Cat Meat Trade Prohibition Act. And please ensure the disastrous King Amendment is omitted from the final bill.
