Dear U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,

As a supporter of The Humane Society of the United States, I'm reaching out today to ask that you list the giraffe as Endangered under the Endangered Species Act.

Right now, there is substantial scientific data indicating that the giraffe may soon be in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range if current trends continue. The giraffe has suffered a major reduction in population size across its range primarily due to habitat loss, commercial overutilization and poaching, and such decline continues unabated. As the largest importer of wildlife in the world, the U.S. plays a key role in this decline, having imported tens of thousands of giraffe products in the past decade, including trophies, skins, bones and more.

Thank you,
