Help save the North Atlantic right whale!

The North Atlantic right whale is critically endangered with only around 400 animals alive today, and their population continues to decline as a result of entanglement in commercial fishing gear and being struck by large ships throughout their US and Canadian east coast range. If we don’t act now to save these gentle giants, they may be lost to us forever.

The Scientific Assistance for Very Endangered North Atlantic (SAVE) Right Whales Act will take the necessary steps to address the ongoing decline in North Atlantic right whales by providing funding for promising research and recovery actions.

We don’t have a moment to lose if we want to save this species from extinction -- some 28 right whales have been found dead just since 2017 and only 12 calves were born in this same time period. This decline is a recipe for disaster. This decline is a recipe for disaster.

Dear Legislator,

As your constituent I urge you to cosponsor and push for passage of the Scientific Assistance for Very Endangered North Atlantic (SAVE) Right Whales Act. The North Atlantic right whale is critically endangered with only around 400 animals alive today, and their population continues to decline. The SAVE Right Whales Act will take the necessary steps to address the ongoing decline in North Atlantic right whales by providing funding for promising research and recovery actions.

A major contributing factor in the right whale's decline is due to entanglement in commercial fishing gear and being struck by large ships throughout their US and Canadian east coast range. We don't have a moment to lose if we want to save this species from extinction -- some 28 right whales have been found dead just since 2017 and only 12 calves were born in this same time period. This decline is a recipe for disaster.
