Nassau County, NY: Grassroots Meeting, March 22, 2014 Shelter Rock Public Library
Think only professional lobbyists can lobby? Think again! The Humane Society of the United States invites you to attend a free Lobbying for Animals seminar where you can learn how to make a tremendous difference for animals in New York and beyond.
This event is proudly presented with New York State Senator Jack M. Martins of Mineola. Join us and discover basic -- but effective -- lobby techniques to advocate for animals. You'll learn how a bill becomes a law, what influences a legislator, and what animal-related bills and issues we expect to be considered by the state legislature in 2014.
Attend this free seminar and gather all the tools and techniques you need to be a successful citizen lobbyist. Plus, you can put your skills to use and join humane advocates from all over the state for the New York State Humane Lobby Day in Albany on Wednesday, April 9.
Even if you have attended one of our grassroots meetings in the past, join us again to refresh your skills, have fun, and meet other local animal advocates. Don't forget to invite your friends and family!
RSVP today to lend your voice for animals and make a difference in New York. Contact Brian Shapiro at bshapiro@humanesociety.org if you have any questions.
