On December 9, our Animal Rescue Team deployed to Adams County, OH to assist authorities with the rescue of more than 160 animals from a suspected neglect situation.

On the property, we found dogs and cats suffering from a deplorable lack of basic care. Many of the dogs have been left to scavenge their meals from rotting deer carcasses. And some animals are underweight and afflicted by critical medical conditions including mange, untreated wounds, severe infections and flea and tick infestations.

Rescuers removed the animals from the property pending the final disposition of this case. The animals will be examined and receive any necessary immediate medical treatment.

Every year we rescue thousands of animals who are suffering from life-threatening cruelty, but we cannot do it without you.
