How you are helping save the lives of pets in underserved communities.

In rural communities deeply impacted by poverty and isolation, animals suffer and die from preventable diseases, untreated injuries and homelessness due to overpopulation simply because they do not have access to basic veterinary services.

Rural Area Veterinary Services’ (RAVS) mobile field clinics bring essential veterinary care to the most isolated and underserved communities. Our teams provide high-quality medical care to more than 7,000 animals every year, at no cost to the families or communities we serve.

In 2018 alone, RAVS has:

  • Provided care to more than 6,600 animals, including 1,800 spay/neuter surgeries;
  • Collaborated with shelters to facilitate the rehoming of more than 75 homeless pets;
  • Trained 185 veterinary students in high-quality field medicine and surgery;
  • Engaged 160 volunteer veterinarians and veterinary technicians in a uniquely inspiring community service experience.

RAVS’ dedicated volunteers provide wellness services like vaccination and spay-neuter surgeries as well as emergency care and medical treatment for infections and illnesses — to alleviate suffering and save animals lives.
