Rescued from a cramped and inhumane backyard enclosure, she now spends her days relaxing in her own natural pond.
Hannah Shirley, a 44-year-old Pygmy Hippo, was discovered in 2002 living illegally in the suburban backyard of a private citizen.
Luckily for Hannah Shirley, she was rescued and transported to our Fund for Animals Wildlife Center, where she has a 13,000 square-foot paddock, complete with her very own swimming pool.
Your monthly donation will be used to support all of The Fund's critical work - from providing sanctuary to rehabilitating and releasing injured animals back into the wild. By adopting one of our rescued animals, your monthly donation of $18 (or whatever you can afford) will help The Fund for Animals provide safe haven to animals rescued from horrible cruelties.
