How you are helping save the lives of pets in underserved communities.
The Rural Area Veterinary Services (RAVS) program expands access to animal health services for animals in underserved rural communities where poverty and geographic isolation make regular veterinary care inaccessible.
In 2020, RAVS:
- Provided essential veterinary services for more than 4,200 animals.
- Distributed more than 838,000 pounds of pet food and supplies to provide reliable meals for animals in underserved communities with limited local supplies.
- Engaged more than 1,500 veterinary professionals and students with a range of training and mentorship opportunities from hands on service experience to remote learning events.
RAVS’ field clinics and outreach programs provide a range of essential animal care resources—including wellness services like vaccination and spay/neuter surgeries as well as emergency care and medical treatment for infections and illnesses—to alleviate suffering, save lives and keep pets healthy and in their homes.
